  1. Voor zij die het Engels machtig zijn: Samsung is working on a graphene battery that charges five times faster While I have to say that I am not at all complaining about charge times of smartphones, it apparently needs to be faster. Samsung is working on a graphene battery that has more capacity than current batteries and can be charged five times as fast. The Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) announced this today, reports ZDNet. Graphene has long been seen as a promising material to replace the current lithium-ion batteries. Samsung Electronics' research arm has successfully synthesized a "graphene ball" that can be used to make lithium-ion batteries last longer and charge faster, the company has said. According to Samsung, the technology could provide a smartphone battery that is fully charged in 12 minutes. The capacity could also grow by 45 percent. According to Samsung, the battery remains stable up-to 60 degrees Celsius and could therefore also be used in electric cars. It is unclear when Samsung expects to start mass production of the battery. Link: Guru3D
